After a year of discussion and research, a vision for the Powell Farm is taking shape.
Members of the Powell Farm Advisory Committee presented the outcome and recommendations for Powell Farm during the December 12 Board of Supervisors meeting.
The vision for the 71-acre farmstead includes preserving it in perpetuity while actively producing farm-fresh items for sale. Using the three principles of farm, food, and family, Powell Farm will be an agricultural facility that thrives on public engagement while generating revenue to sustain the land and its operations.
Committee members outlined 1-3, 4-6, and 7–10-year benchmarks for the property, which will serve as guidelines for future decisions.
