Proceeds from fines collected through an automated red light enforcement program in Philadelphia are pooled and issued as grants to other Pennsylvania communities to finance their local road improvements. At its June 2 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors accepted a grant agreement for $286,199 from the fund to be used in building a new traffic roundabout at North Boundary and Marshall Roads. The Board also adopted a resolution approving a new Township application to the fund; if approved, those funds would be used to finance adaptive traffic software for ten signalized intersections in Cranberry.
