The 2025 Leaf Angels season has begun! Thank you to all of our volunteers for donating their time to this program. Both volunteer and requests forms have been closed. Volunteers interested in helping this winter can learn more about our Snow Angels program here.

About the Leaf Angels Program -

The Leaf Angel Program matches dedicated volunteers with Cranberry Township residents who are unable to rake and collect leaves during the leaf collection season. The Leaf Angel Program is a direct result of the Township’s Snow Angel Program that assists residents in need of snow removal.

Family, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to help a neighbor in this simple, but truly important way.

The 2025 program runs from November 1 until the end of yard waste collection.

The Leaf Angel program matches residents with volunteers when/if there are enough volunteers to fill the requests. There is no guarantee that enough volunteers will be secured. If/when there are no remaining volunteers to match, a message will be placed on this page indicating that residents may still submit their information, but that they are encouraged to find alternate assistance, as Leaf Angel assistance is not guaranteed.

Volunteer Information

  • Groups of volunteers are encouraged to work together. Gather friends, family clubs, church groups, employee groups or individuals to provide community service while meeting new neighbors.
  • Volunteers must be 15 years older OR be accompanied by a parents/guardian.
  • Volunteers will rake & cleanup at their match's home ONE TIME during the season.
  • Bring your own rakes, gloves, and leaf bags.
  • Rake leaves at your convenience; weekends, morning, or afternoon.
  • Commit to taking at least one yard, or more, as time permits.
  • All yards will be located in Cranberry Township.
  • Raking begins November 3! Pro tip: Schedule the one-time visit when most leaves on/around the property have fallen.
  • Volunteers are required to complete the online application which includes a liability waiver and photography use agreement.  All participants must complete, electronically sign, and submit the form before a volunteer match can be made.

The Township requires that all leaves collected be deposited in yard waste carts or disposed of in biodegradable bags and left at the curb for collection, per Vogel Waste Disposal requirements.  No loose leaves or unapproved plastic bags will be accepted.

Please note: Leaf bags will not be provided this year. Please work with requestee to coordinate use of their yard waste cart.

What can I expect after I sign up?

  1. First, thanks for volunteering! This seemingly small act will mean the world to the neighbors that are served and inspire others in our community to spread kindness, too.
  2. After the Leaf Angels 'Request for Assistance' form closes, Volunteer Cranberry will begin matching volunteers and requestees.
  3. Volunteers can expect to receive notification of their match via email during the week of October 27.
  4. Reach out to your match and schedule a convenient time to visit!

Requestee Information

  • Please note:  Volunteers will rake & cleanup at a requestee's home ONE TIME. Consider this when scheduling with volunteer(s).
  • Residents who need assistance with leaf removal must complete the “Request for Need” application form, which includes a liability waiver statement.  All residents must complete, electronically sign, and submit the form before a volunteer match can be made.
  • Once a connection is made, it is the responsibility of the participants to schedule the leaf collection.
  • Requests may pause while we wait for additional volunteers to sign up.
  • Raking begins November 3! Pro tip: Schedule the one-time visit when most leaves on/around the property have fallen.
